Micky Calcott - Managing Director of The Window Film Company.

After experience of working in the world of window film and recognising a multitude of unexplored opportunities, in 1998 I decided to launch The Window Film Company with the aim of creating a market leading organisation that I hoped could change the face of the industry.

The business began with a focus on architectural window films, delivering solutions for solar control, safety and security, glare reduction, manifestation and privacy. Today, these options remain a core part of the company’s offering but are now available in alongside full colour printed graphics and fully bespoke decorative products, enabling The Window Film Company to deliver functional and creative upgrades for glazing, walls and other surfaces.

Since launching, The Window Film Company has continued to grow and diversify, but the business remains committed to the founding principal of delivering high quality products alongside the best possible customer service. As the product offering has grown, we’ve continued to invest in new technology, research and development, premises and people, which has in turn ensured that whatever the job, whatever the requirement and whoever the client, The Window Film Company is always equipped to deliver.

As a business owner, one of the skills I’ve had to develop is the ability to switch off and to give myself time to relax. This is still a challenge and I’d still list research and investigating new technology or innovations as one of the things I enjoy when away from the office.

I love spending time outside and enjoy a walk with my dog Dudley as much as an adrenaline fuelled weekend away snowboarding. I’m also a keen cyclist and have completed a number of endurance events for charity, with my next challenge taking place over 100 miles, on a frozen lake, in Outer Mongolia.

My family accounts for much of my time away from work and dealing with two growing boys is proving to be at least as challenging as running a business!
