Steppe Up - cabaret fundraiser in support of the Mongolian street kids circus

Sorcha Productions is organising at fundraising cabaret show - STEPPE UP - East meets West in this charitable collaboration for the Mongolian street children's circus. An artistic cabaret combining the best of UK circus with traditional acts from Mongolia and beyond.

The July 17th fundraiser will be combining the best of UK circus with traditional acts from Mongolia and beyond. From the cabaret world will be Valerie and her incredible Glitterball act, Tink and the angelic La Luna, Matt Hennem with his Liquid Crystal as well as award winning opera from the variety headliner Iestyn Edwards.

Our traditional Mongolia artists include Mr Bat-Erdene Nyamdavaa, the first Mongolian throat singer tp perform on Britain’s Got Talent and who is also highly skilled on the morin khuur - otherwise known as the ‘horsehead fiddle’ a traditional bowed stringed instrument. Sharing the stage will be powerful acro-balance duo Boldo and Gemma who have worked with the Mongolian State Circus, delighting us with a spinning cube performance. They will be supported by two traditional Mongolian folk dancers, Miss Enkuush and Miss Ninjka.

This night is in support of the Mongolian street kids circus with all funds going to the circus school in Darkhan. The circus was started in 2006 and teaches street kids skills such as acrobatics, gymnastics, and juggling. These children have been taught to such an advanced level that they have won 5 gold medals in Children's Art Festivals and continue to perform in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and China.
