Craft Beer Tasting and Food Matching

This is one for the beer drinkers out there! Anyone who has a passing interest in beer can’t help but have noticed the explosion of breweries and beer styles in the UK over the last few years. Most pubs now have a wider selection of cask and bottle beers than ever before, and the options are almost mind boggling!

As well as that the concept of beer and food matching has become a lot more prominent. No longer is wine seen as the best accompaniment for meals, there are many beers that can do just as good a job (dare I say better in some cases)! The trick is knowing what beer goes with what food and finding out to decide on your matches.

On the Beer and Food Matching tasting we will taste at least 6 different beers matched with different foods. We will discover how beer is made, what it is that makes them taste so different and the best food match for each.

The matches will include at least some of the following:

IPA with spicy chicken
London Porter with blue cheese
Amber ale with pork pie
Lager with cold cuts
Pale ale with smoked salmon

The tasting will include use of professional ISO glasses and tasting notes.
