Urbano Tech is a community of companies who develop mobile applications, digital platforms and projects including websites and back-end CMS systems, to those who offer specialist and support services in IT, cloud and workplace systems. Many of our members offer hardware and software solutions and applications in VR, AR, animation, modelling, and CAD. Our Tech community also includes those who are looking for next step investment to develop new products or solutions.

Why you should attend this event?

This is a rare opportunity to meet a tech investor who is an innovator, has written software, built development teams from the ground up, created successful businesses that have gained market share and become part of the fastest growing private companies in the US. It is a chance to hear directly from a successful tech investment entrepreneur and give your own business - tech, digital, software or other solution - the best approach to attract investors.

We look to support all companies in technology to find valuable connections, often in new sectors for their tools and services, so whether you are in fintech or app design, software development or using VR/AR/AI, inventor or P&L merchant, this event will appeal to you.

** SPECIAL EVENT OFFER **

For MD/CEO/Founders of early-stage companies developing software products in the FinTech, Edtech sectors etc, especially those looking to find investment and/or exit their businesses, are offered a free place at this event. Please email Caroline for the  appropriate booking code.

ABOUT OUR OCTOBER TECH SPEAKER

Kent Teague - Urbano Tech & Finance SpeakerKent Teague is the Managing Partner of Gold Creek Capital, a private equity firm based in Dallas, Texas, that invests in entrepreneurial, emerging growth companies. Since the 1990s he has had extensive experience in developing and investing in technology businesses, and more recently became the Principal Investor and Vice-Chairman of Leyton Orient Football Club in East London.

From 2007 to 2015, Kent was the sole owner of Iris Data Services, an electronic discovery litigation support company.  Iris was Kent's 3rd Inc 500 company (an annual list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the US).

Kent then worked for Microsoft, holding a number of different leadership positions. Because of the tremendous growth rate in Kent's group and the huge market share gains, Kent will often claim he has 4 Inc 500 companies to his credit.

From 1990 to 1992, he was the Director of Development at Saber Software. He began there as a software developer, writing about half of the product that eventually took Saber public. He built the development team from 3 to 30 peoples. Saber Software went public in 1994 at a capitalization of $40M.

Kent will look at how and why US investors look for when looking to invest in new tech companies and why they focus on uncovering the next unicorn. This will be an exceptional chance to hear directly from a successful tech investment entrepreneur and give your own business - tech, digital, software or other - the best approach to attract future investment.

About the Urbano Speaker Programme

Our Urbano speaker programme has a successful track record of exploring and championing issues affecting a wide range of sectors, often before they become mainstream, and often from a stand-point of finding opportunities for smaller firms to work with larger ones as we feel both benefit. This includes diversity, sustainability, new technologies and their usage, such as BIM and VR, environmental, workplace and wellbeing, design, M2M/IOT and crowdfunding.

Urbano breakfast events are stripped down conferences, built around great speakers, where the focus is on networking and creating connections and opportunities.

These events are informal, with our speaker doing around 40 minutes at 8.40am, followed by a Q&A, and plenty of time for networking and coffee. Our speakers usually stay to network as they find the audience to be knowledgeable and enjoyable company!

Non-member companies are welcome to book and send representatives to up to TWO Urbano events before needing to join to continue to develop valuable relationships across London's most dynamic business community.

To join Urbano in time to attend this event at appropriate member rates, please view benefits and options for Companies and Individuals.
