Urbano Christmas Lunch

Celebrate Christmas 2019 with Urbano and your fellow members at The Gate Restaurant in Islington - with great wine, an exceptional 3-course menu, great conversations and fun!

And this year we are doing things a little differently. So save the turkey and pigs in blankets for Christmas Day, and join us for a delicious alternative festive feast.

To build on Urbano's zero carbon programme of events and the importance of contributing to reducing our carbon footprint, we have chosen an outstanding vegetarian and vegan restaurant. According to the Vegetarian Scoiety, the whole food production process of farm-to-plate totals 30% of all global greenhouse gas emissions and by replacing meat with vegetarian sources of protein, we can reduce these emissions. It is something we feel passionately about - and we know many of our members do too. And also the food alternatives are now pretty darn tasty!

For our Christmas lunch we will be seated at The Gate Restaurant in Islington. As plant-based pioneers since 1989, they have been creating inspiring vegetarian and vegan food for everyone to enjoy time and time again with a growing number of restaurants across London. Their delicious menu is below and we are pretty confident there is something for everyone including meat-lovers...

CHRISTMAS LUNCH MENU

~ Starters ~

• Chestnut & Caramelised Parsnip Terrine grilled olive bread, cranberry & orange compote (ve, n)
• Three-Onion Vol-au-Vent with creamy shallots & leeks, red onion compote (ve)
• Wild Mushroom & Truffle Arancini with rocket salad and shallot & thyme puree (ve)

~ Main ~

• Christmas Rotolo filled with spiced butternut, leeks, cranberries, sage, served with thyme & lemon roasted fennel & madeira sauce (ve, gf)
• Mushroom & Leek Wellington with cep reduction, new potatoes and sauted spinach (ve)
• Aubergine Schnitzel grilled aubergine layered with cashew cheese & basil pesto, roasted peppers, tomato, served with new potato, caramelised onions, sauted kale & horseradish sauce (ve, n)

~ Dessert ~

• Chocolate Snowball dark chocolate shell filled with chocolate mousse, served with spiced orange coulis & chocolate sauce (ve, gf)
• Pear Tarte Tatin with salted caramel ice cream & caramel sauce (ve, n)
• Christmas Pudding with brandy creme anglaise & griottines cherries (ve, n)

Plus petit fours and a half a bottle of wine per person.

Terms and Conditions of Booking (in addition to Urbano's usual event terms)

• Strictly for Urbano Members only. Two places per company maximum.
• As the date is popular we have made a deposit in advance based on expected numbers. We advise booking early as we cannot increase numbers.
• When booking please note that we cannot provide a refund if you cancel or cannot make the event. No exceptions. However you can transfer your place to another colleague.
