Whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations, economists are predicting that the UK will face tough economic conditions throughout 2020. The International Monetary Fund is predicting a global economic slowdown and 84 senior economists inverviewed by the Financial Times in December 2019 predicted a year of slow or, more likely, negative UK growth.
However the picture isn’t all doom and gloom, UK employment is at record breaking levels and leaving the EU presents the UK with great opportunities. But what does this mean for you and your business?

Our guest speaker for the morning is Rob Elder, Bank of England (Agent for Greater London).
Rob joined the Bank of England in 1998 and for 12 years supported the Monetary Policy Committee as an Economist and then a Senior Manager.
Rob has also represented the UK on the Board of the International Monetary Fund in Washington and worked as an economist and forecaster at HM Treasury, British Telecom and Manchester University.
