RIFT R&D

The construction industry is built on innovation, and architecture is its creative pinnacle. Whatever issues you‘re tackling, from bespoke design and groundwork to reducing environmental impact, it all starts with architecture. That’s why it’s critical to make sure those innovations bring real rewards.

Urbano is London's leading independent business networking community, connecting companies of all sizes and sectors from PLCs to SMEs, in London, the UK and beyond.

Urbano hosts a calendar of different events each week, from speaker breakfasts to seminars and workshops, networking lunches and evenings, designed primarily to bring together those representing companies from our different business Communities: Build, Media, Finance, People, Host, Tech, and UWACTE (Urbano Women In Architecture, Construction, Technology and Engineering).

Our #urbanoengage Speaker Panel Events use an interactive format to examine key themes of interest to businesses. For this event we are partnering with long-time Urbano Build & UWACTE Community supporters Rift R&D who examine how companies of all sizes and sectors can use tax credits to recoup expenditure through the R&D Tax Credit scheme.

The event will be hosted and facilitated by Mark Herring, Urbano's Connector-In-Chief and features Julie Barry, Head of Business Development at Rift R&D. Julie will guide us through what is R&D tax relief, what kind of business and activities qualify, and what costs can be recovered. Whilst there is a particular focus on the Architecture, Construction, Engineering and associated sectors, this event and benefits of R&D tax relief extends across all industries.

Joining Julie on this webcast to discuss how they have benefitted from Rift R&D's assistance will be Urbano Member Ken Mackay of international architects Mackay + Partners.

Also appearing will be Urbano Associates Hugo van Bilderbeek, a residential property developer, and Peter Searle, a business consultant specialising in the construction industry.

You can submit own your questions in advance or during the webinar. The online link to the event will be sent out on Tuesday 11th August.
