Although our country has never been richer, the opportunities for children from troubled backgrounds are not improving. In our last Foundation event we discussed the disturbing issue of county lines, where young people are being enlisted by drug dealers to work as couriers.
In our next event we'll hear from two charities that are achieving great results by helping young people build more stable lives in an increasingly competitive world.
The Spear Programme provided by Resurgo Trust has helped over 5,000 unemployed young people in the past decade, more than 75% of whom reach full time employment or further education. Tom Jackson, founder & CEO, will tell us why the programme works so well. He’ll also interview a recent Spear graduate now employed at EQ Investors.
Louisa Mitchell is CEO of the ground breaking charity West London Zone.Their objective is to spot vulnerable young people early and provide support that is carefully tailored to their needs.
