About Hugh James
Hugh James is a full service, Top 100 UK law firm offering specialist legal and financial advice.
Join Hugh James for our next charity breakfast on Thursday 24 September 2026 at our Cardiff office in Two Central Square where we will be exploring the latest developments in corporate partnerships and grant funding for charities and third sector organisations.
Alongside our regular governance update from Harriet Morgan, Head of Charities, and insights on legacy matters from Roman Kubiak, Head of Private Wealth Disputes, this session will offer practical insights into developing successful corporate partnerships and securing funding opportunities in an increasingly challenging and competitive landscape.
Designed specifically for senior leaders and trustees, the event offers an opportunity to hear from experts, share experiences with peers and discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
The morning will begin with informal networking over breakfast, followed by case studies exploring governance and legacy issues, including common pitfalls and practical solutions.
Participants will then hear from Deborah Sleightholme, Partner and Head of Strategic Partnerships, and Suzie Sutcliffe, Solicitor in the Welfare Benefits team who will share their experience of developing successful corporate-charity relationships and the key ingredients for effective partnerships.
We will also be joined by Andrea Powell, Grants & Programmes Manager from Community Foundation Wales, who will discuss current funding trends and provide practical guidance on strengthening grant applications and securing funding.
