About Spencer West LLP

Spencer West is a leading full service international law firm advising businesses and individuals across the UK and globally.

On 22 October 2020 the Home Office published the last pieces of the puzzle, the rules for sponsored worker visas replacing ‘Tier 2’ visas.

The new sponsored worker visas include the Skilled Worker route, generally for new hires, and the Intra-Company Transfer route, for employees transferring to a UK organisation from linked entities overseas. These rules will be effective from 1 December 2020, so that workers can come to the UK under the new rules from 1 January 2021.

The Home Office has been adapting existing immigration rules bit by bit to form its future immigration system. From 1 January 2021, EU nationals and their family members will no longer enjoy free movement rights in the UK; they and all other non-UK nationals will have to apply for visas under the immigration rules to live and work in the UK. Student visa rules were overhauled in October 2020 and the new rules include some further changes.

Please join immigration team members Samar Shams and Talitha Degwa for a webinar on the new visas for sponsored skilled workers and students. They will explore how this affects European Economic Area nationals post-Brexit transition period and outline the basic requirements for each new visa type and how this will work, in practice, for your business.

In this interactive, online session, you will develop a strategy to maintain access to talent. Whether you have HR duties in a large organisation or you are a self-employed non-UK national, you will learn how to prepare for the UK’s future immigration system. The presentation will last 1.5 hours with lots of time for your questions throughout. Samar and Talitha will also remain available online to discuss any particular concerns following the presentation.

The event is free but please register. Spaces are limited.
