James is an ACA Chartered Accountant with eight years of experience advising businesses across a broad range of sectors. Throughout his career, he has built strong, trusted relationships with clients by maintaining open communication, providing practical advice, and delivering tailored solutions to help businesses achieve their goals.  James specialises in the technical side of accounting, including UK GAAP, IFRS and ISA requirements.

Originally from Essex, he completed A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Business Studies before joining a local practice completing his AAT qualification and later moving to a fast-growing accountancy firm in central London, where he finished his ACA qualifications and progressed into a manager role within the firm.

Throughout his career, James has worked with clients across a wide variety of industries, including residential care, construction, hospitality and leisure, property management, pharmaceuticals and retail. He enjoys working closely with business owners, developing trusted relationships through open communication and a proactive approach. He takes pride in delivering practical, straightforward advice that helps clients understand their financial position, overcome challenges, and make informed decisions with confidence.

As a co-founder of Lumora, James is passionate about delivering a more personal and forward-thinking approach to accountancy. He works alongside business owners throughout the year, providing timely advice, clear communication, and practical insight that helps them make confident decisions and achieve their long-term ambitions.

Outside of work, James enjoys staying active through running and swimming and has completed several marathons. He also enjoys playing golf, watching films, spending time with friends at the local pub, and supporting Chelsea FC.
